Mark 6:30-46 But so many people were coming and going that Jesus and the apostles did not even have a chance to eat. Then Jesus said, “Let’s go to a place where we can be alone and get some rest.” (v.31 CEV)

“There just aren’t enough hours in the day.” Do you find yourself saying this? I sometimes feel guilty when I have spare time. I think to myself, “Isn’t there something that I could be doing?!” Guilt doesn’t come from God; it comes from the enemy. The enemy would love for me to stay busy and distracted. I have a theory: “Multi-tasking” is a tool used by the enemy to keep us distracted and busy so we never learn to be still and fully focus on Jesus. It’s just a theory…

Jesus invited the disciples to spend some quality time with him. He suggested that they go somewhere to be alone and get some rest. Hanging out with Jesus and resting in his presence; that sounds like a wonderful way to spend my time.

When is the last time you went someplace to be alone with Jesus and rested in his presence? Join me in taking time out of our busy schedules to be alone with Jesus.

2 Samuel 3:6-21; Psalms 61, 62; Acts 16:6-15

Until next time blessings and healing
