Psalm 29 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. (v.11 NIV)

“Quitter!” That word from my adolescence taunted me as I accepted a full-time position at the Healing Ministry. I was two semesters away from receiving my Masters in Social Work. Why would I quit now? In confusion I cried out to the Lord, “But my plan has always been to become a Social Worker, ever since I was 15.” Suddenly I remembered I had my Bachelors in Social Work; I was a Social Worker. I’d done “my plan,” now it was time to do His.

The Lord filled me with His strength and peace to walk away from the Masters program. Through inner healing I forgave myself for all the times I quit—so I wouldn’t fail. God forgave me and redeemed all those times I quit. I’ve learned that when God calls you to leave something it’s not quitting, it’s the beginning of living out God’s plan for your life.

I am a new creation in Christ, the old has passed away and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Until next time blessings and healing
