John 11:28-44 When he said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” (vv.43-44)
When I first got saved, I was wearing the “grave clothes” (depression, addictions, shame) from my past. I had spent a majority of my life feeling wrapped up in these “grave clothes.” No matter what I tried, I still felt trapped. The Lord led me to the Glennon House for inner healing. There I met my Healer, Jesus Christ, during prayer ministry.
Jesus instructed the people with Him to, “Take off the grave clothes…” We are Jesus’ hands and we are called to help people find freedom from their “grave clothes,” whatever that might be. A Prayer Minister at the Glennon House guided me through a prayer time of inviting Jesus into the painful moments of my past. Each time Jesus healed one of those moments, a strip of my “grave clothes” was removed with the aid of the Prayer Minister. Jesus healed me from depression, addictions, and shame.
Jesus called me out from my life of walking around in “grave clothes.” He used a fellow Christian to unwrap me and He offered me a brand new life.
