As I am working on this Visual Storytelling project, God’s fingerprints keep showing up everywhere. I have been posting my character images for The Creative Community Center in the Daz Gallery (since the characters are made using DazStudio software). This has led to three additional characters being created to represent three of the artists that I’ve grown close to. There is also a fourth artist in the Gallery who comments on my artwork on a regular basis.
The other day, he wrote this as part of his comment, “it is difficult to build a secret command room for the squadron “blah blah” of the underground shelter on top of this. Well, it’s a secret base, so let’s just say that only a few people know about it.” And I was like, that would be really cool to have one of the kids find a secret room in the basement of The Creative Community Center.
Then my mind jumped to what if the secret room had been part of the Underground Railroad getting the slaves to Canada. But then I was like, did the Underground Railroad even run through Maine? And what are the chances of it actually running through Cumberland County or Bridgton, Me which my town of Parable is modeled after.
So, I did what anyone would do. I Googled it. And God is so amazing! Yes, the Underground Railroad did run through Maine. And wait for it…it actually ran through Bridgton, Maine too. I was like, “REALLY?!?” God makes me smile the way He makes things like this work out!
All of this to say, that I am now going to be creating a secret room in the basement of The Creative Community Center because of a comment made on one of my scenes in the Daz Gallery. God’s fingerprints are all over this as He connected the dots between the comment > to my brain > to the history of the Underground Railroad.
