John 10:19-42 “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (vv.28-30)
I read the above verses and had a light bulb moment. In my mind I could see the Lord connecting the dots of revelation for me between this Scripture and another one: “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…” (Isaiah 49:16a). We are engraved on the palms of the Lord’s hands and no one can snatch us out of His hands!
I saw this illustrated during my internship working with teenage mothers. Time and again I watched the young women reach out and hold their child’s hand to keep them close as they walked along. They kept a firm hold of their child’s hand, not letting go for even a moment. Their child’s hand was held safely, pressed against the palm of their mother’s hand.
Have you ever looked at your hand after holding something for awhile? An outline of what you were holding is imprinted on your hand. As God’s children, our image is imprinted for eternity on the Lord’s hand. We are held safely forever. Can we all say, “AMEN!”
