One of the aspects of my yearlong Visual Storytelling workshop is to create a Mixed Media piece of artwork once a month. I’ve been pondering how to include that into my storyline. Especially since my visual story is being told through 3D characters, props, and environments. Then I had a brilliant idea pop into my mind. (Well brilliant to me at least! LOL)
Why not use my monthly mixed media assignments to create artwork that is created as Art Therapy by the women from the Battered Women Shelters and from Trafficking in my story? I am a huge supporter (in real life and in my story too) of Art Therapy being a part of people’s treatment plans. It often allows them to give voice to emotions that they can’t verbalize.
The Mixed Media artwork that I will be creating will come from a variety of different sources. Here is just a few of the places where I will get elements to include in the piece: Creative Fabrica, Etsy, my Awake Art class, Daily Texture, 2 Lil Owls, GandT Artwork, MidJourney, and more. I will then place the artwork as a texture either in a frame or on a canvas in a Daz Studio environment to create a scene.
This is September’s Mixed Media artwork titled: BROKENHEARTED. I created a scene in Daz in the Art Studio at The Creative Community Center. I’m currently in the process of building that area of TCCC in Daz. So your first sneak peek at it.
