When someone we know and care about dies unexpectedly it can be devastating. Working through the grief cycle is a process and takes time. The good news is that we can learn to reframe our memories so that they bring smiles not tears.

FOMG

Do you have FOMO?  Do you even know what FOMO means?  Well, I didn’t know what it meant, but I was afflicted by it for years.

The Broadcaster

Each of us has a message that we carry around inside us wherever we go.  Often times, it is an unspoken message that we broadcast through our actions.  Other times, we verbally broadcast this message to the people around us.  Regardless, if our message is unspoken or spoken, we are constantly broadcasting our message to the world around us on a daily basis.

Welcome to

Fish and Chips

Inspired by John 6:9-13

Fish and chips, really?  Yep, that is the name the Lord gave me for this website.  Three times over the last week, a podcast popped up on my phone.  I never even tapped on the podcast, but it was very persistent in trying to get my attention.  After the third time I decided I better listen to it.  So, I did.

The Pastor was preaching on the one miracle that appears in all four of the Gospels.  The miracle of Jesus feeding the 5,000.  In John’s telling of the miracle, we find out that the disciples asked a young boy for his two fish and five loaves of bread.  He gave it to them.  Jesus took the bread, gave thanks to the Lord, and proceeded to multiply what the little boy had given Him to feed 5,000+ people that day.

When the Pastor was telling us about this amazing miracle, he called the fish and bread the boy had, “fish and chips.”  As soon as I heard him say that I knew that Jesus had just given me the name for this website.

Giving Our Fish and Chips

That day, Jesus asked a little boy for his lunch.  Without hesitation the little boy handed his lunch over then watched as Jesus took that meager offering to multiply it into enough food to feed 5,000 men plus all the women and children there that day.  The Lord loves to work through us to serve others.  His invitation to each of us is to give what we have to Him then He will use it to serve others through us.

As that idea sunk in, I realized that everything I’ve ever written, painted, or recorded has simply been me giving Jesus my fish and chips.  He then blesses it, multiplies it, and gives it to others.  It might not look like we have enough fish and chips to help others, but in God’s hands it will feed everyone that needs feeding.

This website is me handing over my small supply of fish and chips to Jesus knowing that He has plans to bless it, multiply it, and use it to feed people who are hungry for God’s healing.  He has had me writing, painting, and recording stuff for the last fifteen plus years.  Since 2019, all of it has just been sitting on my hard drive gathering dust.  God’s timing is perfect, so I have to believe there is a reason He has asked for my fish and chips at this specific time.  I am humbled and blessed that He has invited me to partner with Him in this new season.  My prayer is that if all of us give Jesus our fish and chips, He will bless them, multiply them, and give them to others as He heals our world.

My Testimony of God's Healing

by Kirsten A | Healing Service 2005

“There is a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish.  But that is a drop in the bucket for a crowd like this.”  Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.  There was a nice carpet of green grass in this place.  They sat down, about five thousand of them.  Then Jesus took the bread, and having given thanks, gave it those who were seated.  He did the same with the fish.  All ate as much as they wanted.
